  1. Hi,

does someone know how I can broadcast 3 panasonic HD/Mini DV camcorders to a computer running wirecast so that it can detect the video transmition and record what is sent. I ask this because I am tired of using FireWire cables that limit camcorder range thus if a wireless solution is used, camcorders can be placed in a wider range (limited of course by his wireless communication zone).

Does someone know how to do this?

    Thanx
    Echi

@28Mb/s sustained exceeds most consumer wireless solutions. Pro wireless solutions are costly.

You are at the point where SDI (single long coax) becomes necessary at least for your more distant camera positions. Cheapest SDI camcorder is Canon XH-G1 with Jackpack at ~$6000.

Another way to go about it is with a DV to SDI or SDI to DV converter similar to this.

Explore offerings from pro manufacturers like AJA, Ensemble Designs, Miranda etc.

You may find that prices for converters are better spent on new SDI camcorders.
