it's in the settings of your graphic card but i doubt it's the real problem, anyway try it (i use 1024x768 personnally).

hmm i just keep getting the same error and i have all programs closed when i use it

Right click on your desktop, select Properties, Settings tab, Display resolution, move the slider to the left to reduce the resolution.

Ah, just noticed you're running Vista. No idea how you reduce the resolution. It might be the same but I somehow doubt it.....
