  1. I have just purchased a Kodak DX3600 Digital camera which at high resolution takes pictures 1800x1200.

I want to be able to use the jpeg pictures to make a VCD slideshow which I can browse by pressing next and back on my stand alone DVD player.

It would also be nice to be able to add several tracks of music which would play regardless of the speed of browsing through the pictures. I would also like it to loop when it reaches the end of the music.

Is there software available which would allow me to do this (preferably free), and at what resolution would the pictures be displayed on the screen.

  2. You will want software that encodes the pics as MPEG stills on the VCD - resolution of these is 704x480 NTSC.

Get a free trial of DVD Pictureshow (does slideshows on DVD & VCD 2.0 discs) at www.ulead.com. See if it does what you want.

It may not do all you want as it has a fixed time between pictures.
