    Hi ,
I have a IEEE 1394 port : firewire .. and I used to capture from my video camera using it ..
The last time I tried to capture ( and it worked ) was like 2 months ago ..
But 2 days ago I wanted to capture some' .. Whenever I try to capture ( using Movie Maker ) .. it turns to " not responding " .. So whats the problem .. and how can I fix it ..
I'm 100% sure that I will find the solution with you guys .. I never ask you some' .. and back with nothin' ..

But I got two points :
1- My PC is powerful as a normal-use PC ( see my info - like 2 gb ram .. etc ) .. so I don't think the problem is caused by a full ram problem or so ..
2- I tried to capture using other progs ,, in the past it worked .. and now it wouldn't ..
3- When I connect the camera .. It shows me that there's a camera connected .. But when I try to capture

    waiting for y'all ..
    thanks ..

Try using WinDV and manual camcorder controls.

WinDV makes an exact duplicate of the data on tape (i.e. first generation copy) every time.

Movie Maker 2 can too only if you know how to output as DV-AVI not WMV.

But I'll use WinDV . But If the tape finished while capturing .. does WinDV stop capturing ??

    thanks

No, you need to stop it manually.

One warning on WinDV, it doesn't behave well when the disk becomes full.

For some reason machine control (e.g. stop, play, rew, ff, pause) isn't working.

IEEE-1394 connect is one process under XP/Vista networking.
DV video streaming is a second process under DirectShow
DV machine control is a third process.

WinDV can work with just the first two working.
