But i'm using XP on the other computer. The cable is connected to the Vista computer.

	I'm assuming both computers are part of the same network? If so, in Vista, open 'Control panel>Printer'. R click on your printer and choose 'Sharing..' That should open this page: 
 
  
 
 That as far as I have gotten on that page as my printer is a network printer and it's already shared. But if you get that far, it's fairly self-explanatory. But check the 'share this printer' box and put in a printer name. Mine would be 'HP Photosmart 3100'
 
 Once you get it set up for sharing, then go to your XP computer and open the add printer dialog there in 'Control panel' again, put in your printer name and if XP finds it, you should be set.
