I have been told that following an illegal floating error you can stop and start tmpgenc.
How do you do this and how do you then join the two half together,
Can't find anything to help

You can use the edit feature under "mpeg tools to join clips." However I don't recomend this as it results in a pause of almost a second where the clips are joined.
