Starting from Dv material, captured with DV500PLUS from pinnacle, imported in Premiere 6.01 on win2K, I have used frameserver 0.93 plugin and tmpgenc 2.51PLUS to create an SVCD mpeg2 file.I used a template in TMPGENC with max 3000 bitrate, 2Pass VBR and settings I checked with various other fora.
My original source (DV) is recorded in widescreen(Sony Digital video camera). I have nowhere checked 4:3.
It is PAL, 25 fps and 720X576 frame size at the origin and 480X576 at the end of the encoding.
I burn with NERO using SVCD.All runs OK but when I watch the result in Win Mediaplayer 7.1 the image is stretched and so it is also playing back on my widescreen TV using a pioneer 644A DVD, with two black bands top/bottom.
The audio is a littlebit hissy at times but otherwise OK.
Can somebody help me what I did wrong getting the stretched images?
Many thanks
