I'm working on testing the effectiveness of deinterlacing algorithms and denoising methods.

Aside from HQV Benchmark DVD are there other test images. Is it recommended to create your own test data? Like taking a frame, splitting it into fields and creating interlaced frames from that?

    Thanks

Why not shoot DV video with a camcorder or cap sports from TV?

I like to shoot freeway traffic from the side to get extreme motion cases*. Also good: tennis or hockey.

    * Shoot fixed cam for car motion against stationary background. Next pan track a passing car for stationary object with moving background. Add a zoom to add scaling. Handhold to add jerky and/or circular motion to simulate Joe average camcorder user.
