I have a JVC-DR-M100S recorder that was suppose to be made after the reset issue. It wasn't. I usually don't use it for anything important, but I wasn't thinking and set the timer - which seems to be where the problem comes from in my case.

Anyway halfway through an hour program it started flashing reset. I turned it off and when it came back on it doesn't recognize anything on the dvd-rw and reads it as a blank - so I can't finalize.

When I put it in the computer it says it is an audio cd and shows track 1.cda

Is there anyway to recover this 30 minutes off of this dvd?

    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks pinetop.

I downloaded the latest Isobuster and let it do its thing. It says it found a Recovered File 1.VR_MANGR.IFO - Size 2 KB and Recovered File 2.VOB - Size 13.69 MB.

Of course to go further I need to pay $30. I am a little leary of this as I have been burnt before with pay now to see only to be told oops - can't put it back together again.

Besides I don't think that 13.69 MB sounds big enough to me to be 30 minutes of taped television show, but I could be wrong.

I'm going to think about it - if I thought I'd use isobuster a lot I wouldn't mind, but I'm not sure I will.

    Thanks again for the suggestion.

Can you REALLY not live without this TV show? If not and you don't want to pay for Isobuster, there are other ways to get TV shows for free. Major networks all offer streaming versions of their shows at various places. Also, depending on the show and its popularity, there might "alternate methods" of getting the show (cough! cough! BitTorrent).
