  1. I am pretty sure I am over looking it, but how can I take a avi make it into a VCD have a menu with chapters and than put it on a DVD. I know how to take make a avi into a VCD I have did that a million times. I just cant remember everything else. Which guide will tell me everything? Oh one more thing the orginal avi is widescreen I forget the ratio, but I just sent it through tmpgenc and it changes the ratio where the picture is more "stretched". I changed the aspect ration to the same specs as the avi, but than when I burnt it the movie was off centered. In other words it was up top on the tv screen.

What version of tmpgenc? The standard tmpgenc/tmpgenc plus or the newer tmpgenc xpress?
Why make a vcd? You can convert to dvd-video with same video settings as vcd(352x240/288 = LOW quality).

How advanced menus do you want?

I would convert with HCENC and author with TDA. If you just want basic menus with chapters you can try all-in-one tools like convertxtodvd and dvd flick(latest beta).

  5. Real simple just basically a title screen where you click on something and it starts the movie. So which you think? Thanks.

real simple if you have a little cash (yes i pay for GOOD software). take you avi file and convert it with tmpeg 2.x 3.x,etc with the low res dvd script. next open tmpeg dvd author 1.6 (i use it so i dont re-encode my mpeg's. 2.0 and higher always want to re-encode, long story).follow the instuctions and you should be able to make a dvd with 2-3 movies on it.(5-7hrs).
if all else fails read the manual
