So I have started finally using my windows media center on my vista premium pc for recording tv. Now I finally go to burn some shows to dvd using media center and it says its own files aren't compatible! What the hell? They are dvr-ms files recorded using windows media center. Are you telling me that you can't burn dvr-ms files with media center?????

I am pleasantly suprised however that Tmpgenc Dvd Author has buitl in parsing for the dvr files so I can import directly. I wasn't looking forward to having to use directshowdump to strip the file header and then use another program to burn.

However is there any setting in media center to make sure that the shows it records can be burned within media center itself?

I am ok with using tmpgenc for burning but it would be nicer to use everything in the same program.

AM I doing something wrong? Advice is welcome. Thanks.

I use Nero 7 or 8, or output from movie maker to DV-AVI.

I'm not impressed yet with Vista DVD Maker.

Well its just weird that files produced in its own format can't burn in its program.

The other oddity is the files are able to sync to the ZUNE after conversion but MEDIA CENTER won't do it itself. I have to drag and drop the files into the ZUNE software for conversion.

Oh well I guess I'll just conitnue to use TDA 2.0 for authroing then. Fortunately on my dual core its only an extra two or three minutes to do the parsing for the program stream.

    Thanks.
