  2. Depends on your hardware.
If you have a graphics card with tv-out, connect this to your vcr with an rca(phono) lead.
if not , consider an upgrade to a video card that has this or buy a scan converter.
Look in the 'how-to' section on this site on viewing stuff from computer on tv's, but connect to your vcr instead of your tv.

    Obvious really!!!

  3. Thanks! I have a video caption device that I have a cable where I connect it to the computer and the vcr. But it didn't work. When I put the vcd in I thought that it would automatically come up on the tv.

  4. Hi angie,

i think you mean video CAPTURE devise. If this assumption is correct then this is probably a so called tv card. It has two main uses

1- to enable you to watch tv programs on your computer monitor just like your tv. To do this you just plug in a tv aerial (antenna) just like with a regular tv into the socket on the back of the computer marked ANT (the tv aerial will only fit in the correct one anyway)

2 - to record (capture) vhs tapes from your vcr into your computer, using the leads i think you described.

NOTE -- both of these functions of your tv card involve getting stuff INTO the computer. The tv card cannot output stuff to a tv or vcr, which is what you requested originally ( vcd/cd to vhs TAPE)

Look at the green sections on the left (the 'how to's ) and select PLAY.
then look towards the bottom of that page and read the 'how to watch contents of your computer on a tv'. Substitue tv for vcr and bobs your dads brother!

    Good luck, scott
