  1. Hi every one.
    I have a problem with SubtitleCreator 2.2.2
My operating system is Win XP SP3 with .net 2 and I installed klcodec385f.exe codec, I also installed PowerDVD.Ultra.Deluxe.v7.3.3516-DVT

I want to use SubtitleCreator 2.2.2 to add a new subtitle to a DVD and edit it, in this regard I have to follow either one of 2 settings

1- Select DVD decoder  preferred by SC, in this case when I try to open a DVD from my HDD I received error message saying (SC preferred decoder is not installed, If you want to preview your subtitles on top of the video, you should either install the preferred DVD decoder first, you will find it in the K-Lite..etc, Or you can choose to use the default DVD decoder ..etc) I receive this message although I already installed the latest K-light available.

2- Or select DVD decoder  preferred by system, in this case I got black movie and nothing appears on the play area
I tried more than one DVD title but I always get the same problem. Any advise how can I get this program working, or is there any other program that might work.
    Best regards,

To add subtitles to your DVD, you don't need the preview. As specified in the help file, if you want to preview The DVD with the subtitles, you need to install either PowerDVD4 or PowerDVD6. I'm not sure PowerDVD7 works.

  3. Dear Manusse
Many thanks for your advise, as I want this option to work because I am adding new sub to the DVD, so I need to preview both movie and subtitle in same time for many reasons, such as adjust timing of the new subtitle, add some lines which are not in the original subtitle. In fact I am adding new subtitle to the existing DVD via very long way. First I rip the DVD to AVI, then cerate the correct subtitle, last add this new corrected subtitle to the DVD by the use of SubtitleCreator. Of course this is not a wise way but if SubtitleCreator could display the movie I would not go via this hard way.
I will check your suggestion and many thanks.

The author's SourceForge help forum indicates that the DVD codec is PowerDVD 6 or PowerDVD 4. I installed PowerDVD 6 and it seems to work OK now . Hope this helps.
