Couple of questions:
I'm not sure this was ever asked, or how long ago it might have, but I'll ask it again.
How does one copy the "flash" pics (the ones that play when you visit a webpage, ie, iMDB)
from within their browser or do you need a separate tool to do that ??
And other question.. creating flash pics, How is it done, what software tools, etc. ??
Thanks,

	start by using firefox browser,

there are numberous plugins available, swf catcher, unplug, etc.. for finding and saving the flash/swf files & videos

you can even use use FF builtin tool, 'page info' to see whats on the page

look for the 'embeded' files, then save them from the page info menu

to create them you need swf ( shockwave ) tools

adobe flash cs3, sothink swf quicker, or sothink swf easy, swishmax, and other programs that take images and create flash files
-
here are some swf files I created from various source material

 including a couple of clocks

all of this is desinged to fit on my Voyager phone, not for websites

Thanks for the suggest. I much prefer Opera for the features that I use all the time, mostly.
The TABs is especitially useful to me, while in firefox, they are not, and I get too frustrated
with them. Same for Netscape's TAB's. You can't even move them around (rearrange them)
and click bk/fw and so on and so forth..

Anyway.. I love it.. how things never seem to work on my system. Your .swf clips are not showing
up in my opera browser. The screen is white, though the .swf is still streaming or downloading.
 It never ends

Well, for instance, there is one playing now, and it's nice and I'm curious how to extract it from
the webpage to get a look at it in detail. I'm guessing that flash (or whatever these are) are
the next higher level from the older .gif format. But what do I know, I'm just guessing. But I
do like the flash that's playing now and I'd to snip it from the top of the this page here before
its finally gone and something else replaces it:

 --> http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0277296/

(it plays for a little while and then stops, and then plays again, and so on)

Then, I'd like to research how I might be able to do something similar, on my own, maybe with
freeware tools and a little enginuity or something

	As theewizard said,:

@ vhelp: do you have the latest version of Adobe's Flash Player

Been there, not seen it.Well, for instance, there is one playing now, ...
 ... -> http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0277296/
Perhaps it can be viewed only in Opera and only under Windows 98...
-
I'm so sorry you can't see it. Its really nice and plays nicely too.

Here's a snip (a pic via alt+printkey) is all I can muster up from Opera v9.2, and thats why
I would like to learn how I can snip this clip (and others) like these. They are sometimes
really nice looking, etc. There's a small video window that plays inside the pic while the
flash also plays. Looks really nice, though.

I see. That's an ad, and it's not intended to be viewed
outside of North America. Anyway, have you already looked at the
source code of that page? Maybe the URL to what you're wanting
 is simply written on it.
-
Well, (assuming I do this0 after going here:

 --> menu\view\source (or, ctrl+F2)

I don't know where I should be looking and for what item ??

 -vhelp 4614

Ok. I went ahead anyway and reviewed the source, looking for what I assumed was .swf files.
So, I found several of them. I compiled the list of found .swf files and there were 10 files.
I only copied/pasted a couple in the browser url box and to my surprise there was the video
and other flash stuff. It looks like these things are in pieces and they all have a place to sit,
much like an orchestra setting. Anyway.

So, I tried to see if www.keepvid.com would do anything -- like, allow me to download them,
but it failed. I'm not sure how I would download them since whenever I paste them in the
url box they just begin to play and not save.

Hay, I got a little closer to my inquiry. Anyone got any suggestions ??

 Thanks,

That was ingenious, and it worked, in-doobudidly-so --> <-- <--

Now I'm wondering if I can re-create the whole "orchestrated" flash/macromedia experience,
where they had the ad at the top playing in all its pieces. I'm just curious to know/see how
they are all put together like a concerto if you will.

Now all I got to do is find a way to play them on my HDD. Ha ha.. who cares.. it all in a days
fun, and I needed a break from all my weekend long multi-tasking

Thanks guys. It's been a great weekend of learning and fun !!
