I have a Panasonic TH-58PX600U 720P plasma remotely connected to my XP home HTPC via DVI/HDMI. Radeon X800GTO vid card using ATI Catalyst 2008.0225.2153.39091 (latest). Plasma is currently clone of the main VGA attached LCD monitor, a Hanns HW223 1080P. Settings are 1280/720 32 bit 60 hz (have tried 1360x768, closer to the plasma's native resolution, but when I do the plasma's display blacks out). This setup works very well & the picture is quite good, except that the plasma crops the outer portion of the display. This is most noticeable when using the screen as a monitor. For example, when displaying Firefox, on the upper left only about half of the "e" on the "File" menu title displays, on the upper right the "X" close icon is hidden, and along the bottom only the top half of the taskbar shows. Same with the title bar at the top. Display size is fine on the LCD. I have tried adjusting the size in ATI Catalyst's control center under "Monitor properties/Adjustments", but whether I have the Plasma set as the primary or the secondary display, the changes only effect the LCD display. Is there any way I can tweak the display size a bit? I know there are those who say HDTV's make lousy monitors, but honestly I'm sitting here on the couch 12 feet from the plasma typing this in Firefox & it looks great, if I could just reduce the size a smidge. Won't take much...
Thanks
Fred
