    Mate sent me some footage on dvd , poped it in the dvd player, the menu comes up ok , scroll down to the part i wanna see and nothing , the menu still stays on the screen, and the dvd players counter continues on as if it's playing but it's not......... any ideas ?

    If you are talking about computer DVD playing, using WMP, that it is quite possible. I cannot use that player on my machine. It show menu, while you hear main feature playing in background - no picture.
    Try VLC, PowerDVD, Nero. I use last two, no problem.

    You are probably missing an MPEG-2 codec on your machine.

    If the menu appears, then a suitable mpeg2 decoder is installed, and not the problem

    Try another player such as vlc, gom, koolplaya, and see what happens

    If nothing changes Id say the vm commands used in the structure aren't completely compliant

    Grab a copy of pgcedit, load the dvd up, head to menu thats affected, and check where that button heads to

    Even export the vm commands (info > title commands), save and post for error checking
