need help on this stuff

hi guys.. i'm having problems converting .avi or .asf files to play on a commercial tv dvd player. After converting the .avi/.asf file into mpeg1, I burn it to vcd format.. then when I tried to play it on the dvd player.. it says "No Disc". Does anyone have any idea how to get it to play on the dvd player?? I'm pretty someone might of post this before.. so.. to save the trouble.. can someone tell me which page its at so i can go there and read about.. thanks.

did you check the dvd player list to see if your player supports cdrs?? and if so what brands... this is probably your problem.

Thanks DiViNeLeFT... i think the problem was that i been using CDR and not CDRW... gotta get some CDRW and try again..
