I've generally had all my capturing/sources hookled up in the one place, but it'd be very useful now if i could move the pc side of things to another room leaving all the devices with the main tv in the living room. So i was thinking.. what with home streaming stuff being digital.. having inbuilt error correction etc, might i have an even better transmission over that than i've had with traditional connectivity, interferencewise etc. Anyone tried this sort of setup?

Bluetooth, in it's current version, will not be up to the task. You might want to look at something like a Slingbox or a small HTPC with a wireless ethernet network talking to your primary computer equipment in the other room.
