Anytime, I pop a dvd (copied or actual) MPC gives me a error stating: Copy-Protect Fail and apparently my friend who has the same problem with this sent me here to solve the problem on my own. I have no clue what's wrong and can't really use this program. It's the updated version of MPC and I am using Windows XP as my OS.

5 months ago, MPC worked fine with no problems and then up until last month this happens. Please help!

yeah VLC media player works on my computer. Also, Windows Media Player works well, but the quality of the video is not that good.

I have the same problem, but if i disconnect/disable my TV (connected via HDMI / ATI HD3850) the dvds play fine. Only MPC is affected.

Lot of people seem to have this problem, although most seem to have it on Vista Business. The only solution I have seen posted that worked for at least one person was to install the latest graphics drivers for their card.

How the two problems are related I don't know, but that poster reported the problem was gone once the new drivers were installed.
