I have been converting some dvd mpeg movies to h264 for my ipod classic. I have been using ffmpeg. I have been experimenting with settings and reading on avisynth and stuff. I am wondering, is there not a video converter out there that will do all that is needed with converting the telecine fps and keeping audio sync and stuff without using avisynth. it just seems an aweful pain to just convert a movie that i want smooth with nice audio sync. I have about 20 to convert right now, so definately need batch encoding. I have tried xilisoft, couldn't keep audio sync with it and it likes to crash. I have tried videora, same thing likes to crash and video is still jerky. Some of the other ones wont let you customize video bit rate or audio or something else to make it limited. There has got to be some peice of software to simplify this, i would consider paying for it. Any thoughts would be appreciated, thanks.

I've bought corel dvd copy 6 for my zune. Works perfectly for dvd to wmv. It does do direct to ipod conversions and supports h264. My copy I bought at Bestbuy was 50.00 USD. Now as far as telecine I can't say as I just use the built in profiles. There may be more options avaialble but the output at standard quality is quite excellent and supports dual core processors. I would recommend it. Though of course you need to rip the dvd seperately as it doesn't have a decss ripper in it.
