Hi,
I have been using Nero 7 to burn DVD's. I tend to burn music videos on to DVD for promotion for parties.
I use Nero to have a video play in the background of the main menu and during videos put scrolling text.
Is there any other software which can do this which is as good as nero or even better that i can purchase or download?
It normally takes around 3 and a half hours to burn the disc from start to finish and occassionally i find that the videos tend to jump or skip (I think this does not happen when i burn at the slowest speed). I have just bought Nero 8, hopefully that will be an improvement.
Kind Regards

Jump or skip problems could be bad/crappy media, frame rate conversion between PAL/NTSC or other conversion problems.
What is your source video details? Like what video and audio codec and video framerate?
Are you making PAL or NTSC?
Have you tried different dvd media? -
Not sure about the sourse video details off the top of my head. But i find that when i burn at a slow speed i don't have any problems. I always make PAL dvds.
I have tried different dvd media. The one i am using at the moment is very good. -
To put video behind your menus you need an authoring tool that supports Motion Menu. Personally I consider Nero an authoring toy, but some like it. You will have to consult your manual/help files to find out if it supports motion menus. I use DVD Lab Pro for authoring, which can easily do motion menus itself, however I prepare them in Vegas and import them as it gives me better control.
Scrolling text will have to be animated by hand in an editor, not done at the authoring stage.Read my blog here.
