I finally got the video working on my media center pc (HP 8100n) but I'm not getting audio on Live TV. I was planning to put this to good use once baseball season starts up but I'd like to actually hear audio from Live Tv. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this problem?

How are you inputing the audio to the computer? Capture card or line in? Which capture card or is it built in?
Have you went into the computers audio settings and made sure you have the correct input selected and the audio level set high enough?
How are you displaying the video? On the computer or on a monitor?
What hookups for video and audio if you are using a monitor? Do you have audio settings, selections on the monitor? -
There should be sound in "live TV" mode and it will stay on until you hit the stop button or start a playback.

Hey guys, thanks alot for responding. I just realized that the reason it wasn't working is because I had it plugged into the audio in as opposed to audio out. That being said, it presents a new problem.
I already have my TV connected to the audio out so if I were to connect the cpu I would lose sound on my tv. I tried connecting the set top box to my tv using an optical cable but I still don't get sound. I was hoping I could go optical to my tv and use the audio outs for the computer.
I guess my only other option is to get some sort of splitter that'll split the audio out into 2 different inputs so I can have both connected at the same time. Can that be done?
As an FYI, I have the Motorola DCT6400 DVR. -
You can use a 1/8" stereo phone 'Y' adapter like this: http://www.radioshack.com/sm-gold-plated-y-adapter-1-8-stereo-jacks-and-1--pi-2102527.html
Or you can probably find others that also convert to RCA phono if you need that for your connections. -
Thanks. I actually went with these but they're not gold plated. Will that hurt the sound quality significantly?
