    I don't think besweet take m2a file, can't figure out how aften works. Ffmpegui does work but the converted file sounds ugly. However if I simply erased .m2a and typed .ac3 instead then the ac3gain ran and made a good quality ac3 file for me. Just want to share some experience with everybody.

    That means your m2a file was ac3 to begin with.
