a while back I tried converting a quicktime movie to mpeg1 using tmpgenc but the comp was so insanely slow i just gave up. now I have a faster comp but the prob is that the newer version of tmp gives me a calculation error at 2%, so is there a place that has older versions of it?

I highly doubt you will find it on other places, the Author specificly requested it will be removed, but i'm sure if you contact some of the members in PM or IM, one of them will gladly help you find it.
