    I'm working with my neighbor again. He is trying to install software and when he enters the serial no a big THREAT window appears with a refusal to continue. We think that AVG antivirus is the problem. How do we get around this.
    If it is AVG how do we turn it off long enough to enter the serial no which is legitimate.

    What OS is he using? You should be able to turn off AVG by R clicking on the taskbar icon and select 'Quit AVG Control Center'. But I think you have other problems. Are you sure the 'THREAT' message is from AVG?

    Yes the Threat Message is definitely AVG. The OS is winxp and AVG7.5. We will try what you said. Thanks
