Hey everyone. I have an unusual problem I'm hoping you can help me out with.
I have an avi file that nothing can open - I've tried WMP, VLCPlayer, Virtualdub, Premiere, all the usual suspects. I opened up MediaInfo and it seems to think it is a BluRay video: Specifically:
This is from a high speed video camera I use in my lab (I'm a grad student) - it's not some video I got off the internet, so I know it's an avi file, and I really need to get it back. I have dozens of other videos captured in the exact same way that work perfectly, so I really don't know what happened with this one.Code:Count : 191 Count of stream of this kind : 1 Kind of stream : General StreamKindID : 0 Inform : Count : 191 Count of stream of this kind : 1 Kind of stream : General StreamKindID : 0 Inform : BDAV: 220 MiB Count of video streams : 0 Count of audio streams : 0 Count of text streams : 0 Count of chapter streams : 0 Count of menu streams : 0 Complete name : C:\Documents and Settings\Justin\Desktop\Expt Data\high speed camera\P4-march3\p4r73500.avi Folder name : C:\Documents and Settings\Justin\Desktop\Expt Data\high speed camera\P4-march3 File name : p4r73500 File extension : avi Format : BDAV Format : BluRay Video Format/Family : MPEG-2 Format/Extensions : m2ts Codec : BDAV Codec : BluRay Video Codec/Family : MPEG-2 Codec/Extensions : m2ts File size : 230774272 File size : 220 MiB File size : 220 MiB File size : 220 MiB File size : 220 MiB File size : 220.1 MiB File creation date : UTC 2008-03-03 21:06:36.625 File last modification date : UTC 2008-03-03 22:01:14.000 Count of video streams : 0 Count of audio streams : 0 Count of text streams : 0 Count of chapter streams : 0 Count of menu streams : 0 Complete name : C:\Documents and Settings\Justin\Desktop\Expt Data\high speed camera\P4-march3\p4r73500.avi Folder name : C:\Documents and Settings\Justin\Desktop\Expt Data\high speed camera\P4-march3 File name : p4r73500 File extension : avi Format : BDAV Format : BluRay Video Format/Family : MPEG-2 Format/Extensions : m2ts Codec : BDAV Codec : BluRay Video Codec/Family : MPEG-2 Codec/Extensions : m2ts File size : 230774272 File size : 220 MiB File size : 220 MiB File size : 220 MiB File size : 220 MiB File size : 220.1 MiB File creation date : UTC 2008-03-03 21:06:36.625 File last modification date : UTC 2008-03-03 22:01:14.000
Does anyone know of a way I can recover this video file or 'convert' it back to an avi file so I can run it through my normal processing pipeline?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
