For some inexplicable reason my DVD movie Starship Troopers 2 doesn't have any sound although it has audio track-I checked with CloneDVD2, and everything else on the DVD has sound-trailers, commentary and so on, everything except the movie itself..

Anyway, I downloaded the same movie in .avi format, so I was wondering could I extract the sound from that and then merge it somehow to DVD file structure?

Take it back to the store. It's faulty. Or your DVD player is.

Return the movie...ITS NOT WORTH KEEPING!! That has to be one of the worst all time movies. I was thoroughly disgusted with it. The original was a little campy by overall I enjoyed it quite a bit. This sequal though isn't worth the ink on the disc....
    Have a good one,

I think the movie is rather good, it has more horror aspect than the first one although overall the first one was way better.

so, you don't think I can merge audio from .avi?
it was a present so I don't think the option for returning it is viable.

Sure you can, but it will take some knowledge and tools. Search for "replace audio dvd" in the "Search our site" on the front page.

It's a lot more work that taking your disc back and exchanging it or testing it on another player.

If the AVI audio is exactly what should have been on the DVD, yes.
