I'm trying to make my videos perfectly cropped, but when I crop the video and remove the black bars, it looks like it works in Vegas, but when I try to output the file, there are still black bars.

Hint: first of all
drop your video in GSpot and find out what you have there. According to the results, configure the video project in Vegas properly.
Go to the menu bar and choose File> Properties and configure your project. Pay attention: if you want the video ouput as 16:9 Widescreen or regular 4:3. Then open your project and select each clip; click on the white button named Event Pan/Crop; mouse right click and choose Match Output Aspect Ratio. Now go back to the menu bar and choose File> Render As> and choose the correct template for the MainConcept plug-in (if your output is MPEG2), matching this way what you chose before as the properties for the video project. Done.
