When ever I demux this mpg the video ends up being cut off shorter than the audio. I have done this in DVDlab Pro as well as DGMPGDec. The original file is just over 53 mins long, the audio comes out fine but the video always gets cut short at just over 40 mins. What am I doing wrong?

Try repair the mpg with videoredo using the quickstream fix. Or try demux with projectx or pvastrumento.

I think GSpot is showing the video length incorrectly. If you think you're missing the last 13 minutes, why not open the demuxed video in DGIndex (since you mentioned DGMPGDec) and scroll to the end. I'll bet the whole thing's there. Or, if you're using AviSynth, open the script in VDub(Mod) and scroll around to prove to yourself that it's all there.
