  1. I have looked up compatibility lists on my dvd player, the Sony DVR-s560... which all say that it should play DVD-R, yet the three DVDs Ive burnt, two copies and one original DVD, will not play. The DVD player either reads "DVD Player cannot play this disc" or "NO DISC". Is it the blank DVDs that Im using that are causing the problem? I started off with TDK general 4.7, then got some no-name general 4.7 also. Do the Apple ones, or Pioneer or Verbatim, work better? I am burning with Nero, just burning the two folders "VIDEO_TS" and "AUDIO_TS" onto the dvd, with the necessary menu, IFO, VOB and BUP files in the VIDEO_TS folder. Is there anything Im missing? It works perfectly in my computer's dvd drive, the Pioneer A03.

  2. I don't think you will come very far with this method. If you find a program that can clone a DVD (something like CloneCD for CDs) then it might work. But still, DVDs might be larger than your 4.7GB disc and then its f**ked anyway. Rip the DVD and reencode it to a high-bitrate MPEG2 file. Then burn that file instead.

  3. Ive followed exactly the process that is given by the website www.dvd2dvdr.com.... Rip with smart ripper, save only the movie and ac3 files, import into spruce up, create a menu, write a dvd image, and then burn with nero the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders to the dvd with my A03 burner. It works fine when i take out the dvd, put it back into the dvd drive on my computer and PowerDVD reads it instantly, and the menu starts playing, and when i click the "play" button i created it goes right into the movie. So the process i did was fine i would think. There has to be something with the blank dvd itself that my home dvd player doesnt like. Ive ordered some Apple ones, and a Pioneer DVD-R and RW, so i'll try those and see if that works.
