    Goldwave or Sony.Sound.Forge which is better for taking audio from a video file?There both a little prcey so i wandere d which one shoul i commit to buying .

    If you just are going to take out /demultiplex audio from a video I would use a demultiplexer instead, see https://www.videohelp.com/tools/sections/video-de-multiplexers

    As pointed out by Baldrick, you can demux with virtualdub or avidemux or avimuxgui. After that, you can edit with audacity. So far, it's cost you nothing.
