This one is for our illustrious host. Does the forum sub-domain route differently from the rest of the site ? I ask because all day at work I have been able to reach every section of videohelp except the forums. For some reason they have been timing out. Obviously I have no problems here at home (or I would not be typing this), but at work, all day, I have been unable to get here. The withdrawal has been horrible.

Not to speak out of turn, but they are on different machines and have different IP addresses (as far as I know, at least -- could be wrong).

Yep, different machines. Maybe your boss is blocking the forum server...

I manage the firewall, which is what bugs me. It is the firewall/proxy that is reporting the timeout. Was fine yesterday, not happy today. Will be bouncing the firewall later tonight for maintenance, so if it is the firewall, that should clear it. It could also be our ISP, who I am not a big fan of.
Anyway, thanks for the info.Read my blog here.

Different IPs, different routes. -
FWIW, I've experienced this both from both corporate and home networks.

Do you have the same upstream provider both at home and work? What happens when you switch the computer to OPENDNS instead of using the ISP/local DNS?
My upstream at work was been getting DNS attacks, lots of searchportal spammy disconnects, so I flipped my machine to OpenDNS inside of VPC, and was able to connect fine.
If you don't want to change the machine's DNS settings, install VPC and do it inside that install session. Assumes XP inside XP on good machine.Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)
