Hi! I just converted some avi files to dvd using FAVC and imgburner. I did 4 files at the same time. I put the disk into the dvd player to check if it worked and looked at a about a minute of each one, and they seemed great. Later, I watched the first one, and after a few minutes something didn't seem right. I started noticing that the lips were moving, but the sound was late, like in those old Kung Fu movies. As the video went on, the interval between video and sound grew. I watched into the third video, and by then the interval was about 6 seconds. What can I do to correct this? I don't want to burn any more of these files until I can fix this problem. Is there some program I should use to do something with the sound before I use FAVC? When I finished the process with FAVC, the AUDIO_TS file was empty. Is that the way it's supposed to be? The audio settings in FAVC were the default ones; AC3, Retain if Present, and Aften. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

There's a lot of reasons, but it can be due to VBR audio on your source AVI files. Run the AVIs through Avi_Gain_Regular.bat (look in the Completed folder for the Normalized AVIs)

It'll make the audio CBR, which will hopefully take care of the issue. No guarantees, though. Play the normalized AVI files through and see if the sync is still good.

Before burning your DVD, play the vob files on your PC to make sure the sync is good.

Back again. That avi_gain is an amazing program to watch run in the command window, but, alas, the dvd disk still is out of sync. Not as bad as it was, but it's still annoyingly evident. I did them one at a time with avi_gain, then converted with FAVC. Watching them on windows media player, both before and after avi_gain, they were in sync. It's something in the conversion, but I have no idea what to try next. The first post I made was converting avi to dvd, and a guy there said that convertXto DVD synced pretty well, but not perfectly. Should I try that, or is there some other program or way to svnc the audio. Any and all responses are appreciated. Thanks.
