Got the link using F12 in Firefox (the item is marked as 'media' in the 'cause' column of Network tab), maybe you'll need to do the same to make it work for you.

Streamlink with Headers and F12. Filter by m3u8 brings up 3 x m3u8s. Use the master m3u8. The onsite media player is offering a 360p or a 720p but 'best' is 1280p x 960p. (Both videos supplied if you still cant succeed yourself, my friend).

It's not easy to explain, you connect to a special url, you also open a port where the data comes from and from there it's feed into an prog. on yur pc, or a plugin in your browser so you see it on the webpage you're on, alorts of scripting is done, if your downstream isn't that fast, scripts will detect and connect you to a slower stream, de stream also is fed through a special internet protocol, a file would have a checksum which tells it 's finished a stream does not, and it will go on even when parts are missed, a stream is started by handshaking with the server it comes from, it is data that becomes a video while you start dowloading, i guess digital telivision now, is much like it, IPTV, DVB-S DVB-C DVB-T
Maybe not exactly like i say, but in general it is like that i thought, anone correct me when i'm wrong.

Through some programming skills I'm able to download the segments of the stream (mp4 Transport stream) e.g. with links like https://replayftv-vh.akamaihd.net/i/streaming-adaptatif/2019/S04/J4/197062275-5c4a13af...4_av.ts?null=0.
I am also able to reassemble the individual segments to the complete Video, but the resolution for streaming is limited to 1024 x 576.
From my Point of view the issue results in the following questions:
a. Is downloading of the whole Video file prevented by means of geochecking and is there a workaround (e.g. through a proxy-server)?
b. Are higher resolutions available?
c. If a. and b. is "yes" how to get the video-files?

Any hls plugin can catch the .m3u8 link from there (there's no geoblock whatsoever)
So for this video the highest available is 1024x756, giving .m3u8 link:

Too bad that the maximum resolution provided is limited to 576p.
Anyway, the hint with the m3u8 link should save me a lot of time and hassle with a huge amount of small files.
Now I only have to find out which method is faster, ffmpeg or streamlink.

On my I'm laptop, I'm looking to record some sporting events that stream live on espn plus. I've tried a few capture programs and the result is that the video is not smooth and the audio seems off.
