I have a ~20 second MOV that I'd like to cut the first few seconds off the beginning and the end, I've looked for about an hour for freeware that would allow me to do this but haven't found anything. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.

  2. You try MPEG Streamclip?
This editor use and require installed QuickTime (or QuickTime Alternative).
Can open MOV file, edit (example remove fragment) and save without recompression (Save As... option).

  8. When I used it. The message came back stating that only one third of the video was trimmed and to get the entire video trimmed I would have purchase it .

I agree with videobruger. I went to the developer's (Squared 5) website. According to them, MPEG Streamclip is still free. Quicktime Alternative 1.81 is free too.

That being said the existing MPEG Streamclip and Quicktime Alternative 1.81 stopped working for me years ago using Windows 7. The Windows version probably needs updating. The most recent Beta came out in 2012.

Apple's Quicktime Pro is payware, but you only need that if you choose to use Apple's Quicktime 7 for Windows instead of Quicktime Alternative 1.81.

Not me. In case you didn't notice, Free Video Cutter is bundled with links to other websites and third-party apps installations including toolbars. Install carefully if you do not want them.
