I seem to recall a tip published not too long ago about adding a prompt screen to the end of the VCD movie. Something like "Insert Next Disk". Can anyone direct me to that info?

I don't recall the trick but I'm pretty sure that it wasn't like joining a still mpeg to the end of the movie.

  2. This may not help, but on my DivX movies that span multiple disks, I append a little AVI (same dimensions/audio codec/etc) that I created in Cool3D that has a "Please Insert Disk 2" or "Please Insert Disk 3" come flying in, sits there for 5 seconds, then flies off again. I assume you could do the same thing with a short .mpg clip in your VCD.
As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war."

  3. All you need to do is make a picture file saying, "Please instert disc #2" or something like that in *.jpeg or *.bmp format. Make a silent audio clip with sound recorder for however long you what your message to display. Open up TMPGENC and use your image file as video input, and your silent audio clip as the audio. Encode using the exact same settings you used for your movie. In TMPGENC go to File MPEG tools. Go to the merge and cut tab. Add your video file first, and your newly created file second. Make sure you have VideoCD as your type. Choose your output file and click run. Now you have your new *.mpg file, Enjoy!

    Thanks.

That may be what I was looking for. I just skimmed it when I saw the tip. I recall it talked about jpeg. I thought that maybe there was more to it.
