    hi all,

new to the forum, its a great source of info.

i'm looking to buy a blu ray player, but i want to buy a player that can be hacked to play all region standard dvd's.

i have a lot of region 1 and 2 disks and all my standard players at home are multi region.

are there any blu ray players out at the moment that can be hacked to play all region 1-6 disks?

    thanks for the help

None of the current HD players (HD-DVD or Blu-Ray) can be hacked to region free for SD DVD's.

So you are stuck needing to use two players. Just ensure your SD region free player is also a quality Divx player, and you have all the bases covered.

I't may be worth trying to contact this company as you are in Ireland, they seem to have cracked the bluray region coding,it might apply to the dvd region as well

  5. The only HD player to be hacked was the Toshiba HD-XA2,unfortunately it won't be made anymore:

Well the only reason I wait for my PS3 purchase is this. I live in region 3 but almost all my disc is NTSC disc that vary from region 1 to all region. I have only few PAL DVD and that also region 2 DVD.

In fact, I don't have region 3 DVD at all :P
