Hi,
I just purchased the original Avia Calibration Disc over the
Avia 2 because I researched the second version and people were
saying it was not as good as the first.
I figured I would try a disc first before paying someone $200 dolllars
to calibrate my HDTV.
Anybody used the original Avia Disc ?
Thanks...

It works fine and is one of the most popular calibration tools. Which version you get depends mostly on the type of player you are using. You want the SD version for a SD player and the HD version for a HD player, although the SD version will work in both players.
