THX HD DVD Movies????

Hi,

Can anyone give me a list of THX HD DVD movies. That
have the alibration on them.

I searched online, but could not find a list of THX HD DVD's.

There's only one I know of, Brave Story, a Japanese anime video in Blu-Ray or maybe HD. Try a Google search for it. Not released in the US at present, though. I found it here. http://www.thx.com/home/dvd/search.html

I wouldn't be too concerned about the lack of THX-certified software in either format. It hasn't meant a whole lot of anything ever since Lucasfilm sold it to Creative. Quite frankly, the only worthwhile THX-certified titles I've seen were the Star Wars films.

I daresay that with the high-def formats, it's not necessary for the most part, because the studios know that you can't hide anything in HD, so the sound needs to be just so, the picture needs to be just so--everything needs to be just so. Most of the studios seem, IMHO, to be living up to those standards.

So, essentially, the THX certification program for software is unnecessary.

I suspect the original poster may be more interested in the THX HD DVD calibration stuff (assuming such is on the disc) than any specific movies. I've seen lists of discs designed to calibrate various HDTVs, but as I have none of them, I don't know if any are specific to HD DVD. Perhaps. A carefully worded search at a place like Google or Yahoo could probably find such.

AFAIK, any THX-certified title will have the calibration menu on it. I think that's more or less a prerequisite.
