I have read the sticky about capturing streaming media and I've tried almost every program mentioned. I've also installed the firefox plugins without any results. I've tried several programs from the "Video Streaming Recording" tools section, non of them seems to work for me. I want to capture streaming media from www.iwatch.be eg http://www.iwatch.be/2007/player.html?category_id=hetnieuws&item_id=hetnieuws_7_13
    who can help?

The actual clip you want is at

    http://streaming.vtm.be/VTM/agility/20080224_hn13.wmv

You should be able to grab it with SPD Multimedia.

I found it by loading the page in Firefox, waiting until the Windows Media Player control loaded, then right-clicking and selecting Properties. The address that shows up is

    http://www.iwatch.be/2007/asx.php?filename=http://streaming.vtm.be/VTM/agility/20080224_hn13.wmv

However the true path is the section after filename=

I was able to get it from the stream using the method above. Trying to download it using Unplug and other simple means resulted in the file you have.

that file is nothing more than a play list with (2) urls calling the same wmv

even putting the urls directly into VLC or wmp does nothing

I'm able to capture http://streaming.vtm.be/VTM/agility/20080217_hnlaat.wmv now with WM Recorder, SDP Receiver (in settings I changed TCP protocol to HTTP) and GetASFStream. Only the news and weather forecast are free, rest is DRM protected. This is a big paradox: I can record for free from my TV tuner but when I pay my money for the same content I have DRM restrictions!?

yes, but is this OTA broadcast or a 'cable subscriber line' that your tv is connected too, aren't you paying for the CABLE line /satelite feed

I didn't know that the 'adult content' I saw on that website, was being broadcast 'Over The Air' and free of charge ( except for commercials ) even in Belgium

    ok then this statement
This is a big paradox: I can record for free from my TV tuner but when I pay my money for the same content I have DRM restrictions!
you were referring to some NON-adult content, besides the news & weather, some other broadcast content

because the only thing I sawon the website was news OR adult, nothing that looked like ordinary TV shows

anyway good luck on your capture endeavors
