    Hi All,

    Is it possible to transfer files from Digital HDD camcorder to an external harddrive such as Weston Passport external HD without using PC?

    I would expect not. You usually need to be running some sort of software to read and move the data from the camera.

    Not quite the answer you are looking for, but I have been considering using the new ASUS EEE PC for this purpose. The most basic model is quite inexpensive (as laptops go, anyway), and it should be able to act as the "man-in-the-middle" between the camera and the portable HD.
