    I've never once had to do anything extra when adding new ram. The system automatically recognizes it, it boots, thats it.

    This was always with WinXP Home though. Who knows what crap Vista might put one through...

  2. This issue has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with the OS.

    Problem manifests before OS is loaded, same issue would be present with no OS whatsoever.

    It is hardware, and ONLY hardware.

    A fairly rare incompatiblility, and one for which a simple RTFM would have saved a lot of time, frustration, and dollars.

    I don't have a manual or anything with this computer and I couldn't really find one anywhere either.

    I did contact the member from that forum, he recommended where I should purchase the RAM and that I need 'Low Density', now, all I got to do is contact the seller and return the RAM, but he's not replying to me.
