  1. Is there a good simple? software to crop a video I have..? If so what is the name of it..?

    Whatever format your video is in, I'm sure there's a simple software that will crop it, (although "simple" might not garner the best quality), but you need to tell us about the source video and what your final goal is before anything specific can be recommended.

  4. Source is a dvd format video..I got it from my camcorder..converted over to a dvd format..it was a meeting and the person spekaing doesnt move around alot so I wanted to crop out the surounding area around them so the viewer isn't distracted by anything else..thank you so much for any help..

    You would be much better off editing in the original format, I assume DV. If so, you could use VirtualDub and crop the frame to the desired size, then resize back to a size that will work for DVD.

    You can crop MPEG video, but you would also have to resize it and re-encode it and you will end up with third generation video and the associated quality loss. You could extract the MPEG from your DVD with VOB2MPG, then try maybe MPEG-VCR or VideoReDo. They are both fairly inexpensive MPEG editors. TMPGEnc encoder can also do some cropping.
