Two days ago it stopped working, the light is off, and it doesn't open or close.

What can I do, what's wrong?

Well no, its a drive in my computer tower...

Anyway, I turned off the computer for an hour, and it seems to be working.

Thanks for your suggestion though; sorry for wasting your time.

If the tray wouldn't even open/close, then there is definetly a problem. The power cable is loose (as noted above - there is a power cable and a data cable on the drive), the power supply is failing, or the drive is failing.

Cables come off of things inside towers.

I had an IDE cable recently lodge itself loose from a hard drive. The machine never moves. It's just gravity doing its thing.
