    Hey guys!

I am looking for some advise about video editing software, I have just come back from an awsome snowboarding trip with a group of friends and would like to compile all our videos we took.

What i would be looking to do would be things like merging clips togeather, slowing them down, rewinding then playing several times, adding my own music etc. Only thing is i am a complete beginner to this sort of video editing and was wondering what programs you guys have used in the past!

    Many Thanks!

If you want simplistic Ulead makes straightforward video products.
Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw?

it sounds to me like you need to invest some time in a 'video editing' class

there are many programs, for cutting, joining, outputing, BUT nothing going to make decisions about where and when and how,

what deserves the floor and what deserseves to looped or slow mode and most of these programs, don't include instructions on how to slowmotion a clip etc.. which is really extra inbetween frames, with the whole clip running at normal speed ( I admit, i don't know all the features of these OFF the shelf programs ) like video vegas etc..

the old way was to film with a high speed 2x 3x camera then edit that clip into the film and play at normal speed

with video taken at normal speed you have to create the slowmo clip before you put it in the output,

either sperately, or by commands it a 'frame server' like vdub while encoding

    have fun

seriously , take time to check out some film editing classes if you want all the specail effects, slomo, rewind, looping etc

Baldrick i tried using the Mobile 3GP converter but Ulead will still not open the files, i get the error message:

This file cannot be added to this project
This file may be of unknown file format, the computer does not have enough memory or the file is copyright protected

Can you play the avi in wmp?

You could also try convert the 3gp to avi using winff or super.
