    I just bought a Samsung HR-757 and tried the 2 tips available onb this website (https://www.videohelp.com/dvdhacks?dvdplayer=HR-757&hits=50&Search=Search) of how to unlock. It worked wll until the lst step (with 9).

    - Turn on player (without a DVD within)
    - Press "Repeat"(not "Repeat A-B"), "5", "7", "5", "3", "8"
    - "2" appears on the TV
    - Press "9" for Region-Free
    - "9" appears on the TV

    When I should write 9, it turned into Program 01 on the TV screeen instead, and I still cannot play my USA DVDs (I live in Sweden and bought the DVD recorder yesterday). Maybe the info is not complete on this model???

    It's not uncommon for new versions of an existing player to have the firmware locked to prevent the "hacks" from working. So you either have a newer "locked" unit or you are experiencing operator error.
