I have a Toshiba HDD/DVD recorder that allows me to almost double the playing speed of a DVD--while keeping the audio still fairly intelligible. I access the feature by pushing "Picture Search" once on the remote.
I love this feature and would like to know if you know of a simple DVD Player that has it?
It's great for the "slow parts", and I occasionally use it with foreign films with subtitles. (Sorry if this offends anyone's sensibilities)
Thanks in advance for any advice!
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays! or rip iTunes movies!

I've never used a software player which acts the way you want. Software players typically just mute the audio when searching (normal searching). I've personally never tried searching while paused (which should be the equivalent of what your Toshiba is doing).

Actually it's a HARDWARE player I'm looking for with this feature.
