  1. Looking for a easy to use editor that's not buggy like Studio 7. Has anyone had experience with this product. Here's the link.
    http://www.mainconcept.com/mainactor.shtml

I have DC10+ and Adaptec firewire for input.

    Thanks

  2. Nevermind!!
I just downloaded the demo and found the interface very confusing. 5 separate programs for different tasks and not intuitive. I didn't know where to start. Still looking for a good editor. So far I've tried:
Pinnacle Studio 7 which is very intuitive but continues to lock up my computer.

Video Factory demo which looks better but it was difficult to edit the time line. When I split and deleted a section the sound track stayed and when I played it back the section I deleted was still there? There may be a learning curve with this one. This is Vegas Video's little brother and looks to be the most stable, however demo didn't let me output file.

Ulead Video Studio: looks ok but hear about problems on this forum.

    Any recommendations?

    Try EditStudio at http://www.puremotion.com/

MainActor does work (use the MainActor Sequencer module to do timeline editing) but in my experience it is prone to crashing.

  5. I have a adaptec firewire card and I am attempting to capture with Media Studio Pro. I receive the error unsupported video format when trying to playback files that were captured using VideoWave (The supplied capture software that came with the adaptec card)

What is the solution to this issue???

  6. I truthfully like Mainactor and MainSequencer and the lot ... but they are pone to crashing and the sequencer is slow as hell. The linux versions work very well.

My use of Ulead has lead me to hate it

MovieStar (proprietary product for Dazzle Digital Video Creator 2) is easy and basic ... but Dazzle products will NEVER work under linux (paraphrase from Dazzle support). So I sold mine and got a AIW Radeon 8500DV.

Those are the only ones I've tried that I can recall.

    C:\WINDOWS\GO

Which versions of MSP have you used? I don't know much about MSP myself, I haven't got around to downloading the demo of MSP (v6.5) yet.

I upgraded From MediaStudio Pro 6.0 to 6.5 and I have never had an easyer time editing video.

You can zoom into a frame by frame view and cut the video at exactly the fraim you wish (for DV video MPEG is still re-encodes)

Preimere is great too but it seems more difficult for simple edits.

    gNOME...
