I have been looking in vain for stock video footage that I can use in my vacation video.

There does seem to be plenty to buy out there but I am only doing a personal vacation video and the prices being asked for these clips are pretty high.

All I am after is a clip of a 747 landing and things like a helicopter shot of the LA freeway.

It is easy to buy CDs of sound effects (which I have) but there doesn't seem to be one for videos.

Since the video I am doing is for my use and will only be seen by anyone other than friends or family it is not worth spending much money on these clips.

Has anyone found anywhere where I can buy such clips at a reasonable cost?

    Thanks

Archive.org may have some useful stuff. You might have to get a little creative like searching for 'JFK lands in Berlin' for your Jet shot...

If it's a personal video why not rip something from a movie? I mean if this is for personal use with no intention of outside viewing I don't see a problem with it.

NOW on the other hand if you are posting this on a website than I would say you can't use commercial clips. That is how I understand it.
