    Hello,

I am searching for probably a simple trick but can't find the way to set the aspect ratio in a m2v file.

I start from a VOB file with is wide screen (16/9) and automatic letter box (so says PGCEdit when viewing the properties of the PGC).
Then I demux it with VOBEdit, and the resulting m2v file is obviouslly 4/3 when I view it with VLCMedia player.
How could I reset the aspect ratio to widescreen in the m2v file ?

ReStream lets you alter a range of header information in an mpeg-2 video stream, including the aspect ratio.

Some DVDs (not necessarily your case) authored as 16:9 from mistakenly 4:3 encoded files contain the correct DAR info in ifo's only. In most cases that is enough for correct playback, but demuxing will always reveal the fact. VOBs of such DVDs show encoded AR flags in GSpot. This can be corrected with DVDPatcher in VOBs or as mentioned, with ReStream in demuxed video.
